JOE Nuttall is looking to make a concerted push for the Rovers first-team after agreeing a permanent deal at Ewood Park.

Rovers signed the striker on an initial one-year deal, with the option for a further 12 months, after impressing on trial.

Nuttall scored five times in two outings for the Under-23s in wins over AFC Darwen and Ramsbottom United, and was also a second half substitute for the first-team in wins at York City and Morecambe.

The striker was previously on trial with Rovers in the summer of 2014, but made just three appearances for the Under-18s and wasn’t handed a deal.

But the former Manchester City man did enough this time around and is expected to play a key role for Damien Johnson’s Under-23s side, as well as looking to push towards the first-team.

And he told the club’s official website: “I'm just excited to get going and to see what I can do for the club and hopefully I can do good things.

“Everyone has been so kind, from the minute I came in I felt like I was a player here.

“I want to try and push to get first team football, that is the aim, and I just can't wait.

“It is a big club with a lot of history and I'm just looking forward to playing here.”
