STEVEN Defour’s sublime chip against Bristol City has been shortlisted for the FA Cup goal of the competition award.
Defour deftly lofted the ball over Robins’ goalkeeper Fabian Giefer from inside the area, scooping it over his head and down into the back of the net.
The goal gave Burnley a 2-0 lead over the Championship side at Turf Moor, booking a place in the fifth round, where the Clarets were knocked out by non-league Lincoln City.
Defour’s goal, his second and last of the season after his strike against Hull City in September, was voted the goal of the fourth round.
Fans will have the chance to vote for Defour’s goal as the best of the competition during the BBC’s half-time coverage of Saturday’s final between Arsenal and Chelsea at Wembley.
Accrington Stanley’s Sean McConville is also in the running for his effort in the third round win over Luton Town.
The shortlist is as follows: Qualifying - Adam Coombes - Welling United v Swindon Supermarine; R1 - Junior Morais - St Albans v Carlisle; R2 - Adam Morgan - Curzon Ashton v AFC Wimbledon; R3 - Sean McConville - Accrington v Luton; R4 - Steven Defour - Burnley v Bristol City; R5 - Danny Graham - Blackburn v Man Utd; QF - Son Heung-Min - Tottenham v Millwall (first goal); SF - Nemanja Matic - Chelsea v Tottenham
