DANNY Graham is set to return to the Blackburn Rovers squad for tomorrow’s trip to Aston Villa (3pm) after completing a full of training.

The striker, who has been out for five weeks with a groin injury, will join fellow forward Anthony Stokes on the bench as Sam Gallagher and Marvin Emnes look likely to continue their partnership.

The Blackburn boss also confirmed that Charlie Mulgrew will be fit to start at left-back as he continues to cover for Derrick Williams (hamstring).

Mulgrew was taken off after 72 minutes last weekend against Wolves with a tight calf but has been passed fit.

Coyle said: “Danny has trained very well this week with the group this week and I’m able to add him to the squad for the Aston Villa game, which is good news “I’m not sure we’ve had all four strikers available, because (Marvin) Emnes came in right on the (transfer) window, Stokesy picked up an injury and Danny had been injured at different times.

“But the great thing with all four of them is they’re different in their attributes and their qualities, but they’re all goalscorers and you can never have enough of them in your squad. So it will be nice to have all four fit and available.”

Coyle added: “We said last week that the plan was Charlie was going to be on the bench and get 20 to 25 minutes can build him up.

“Obviously with Tommie’s injury on the Friday we had to change plans.

“All credit to the players, they really picked themselves up and really went for it, and Charlie was a huge part of that.

“He is a wonderful player who can play central midfield and centre-back, and obviously left-back as he did for us last week.

“He’ll get better and we felt we’d only get 60 minutes from him last week, but he’s trained all week and looked great.”

The only bad news is the long-term absence of centre-back Tommie Hoban, who Coyle confirmed will have surgery on his dislocated shoulder and faces around three months out.

He said: “Tommie is going to require surgery, which will happen on Monday. It was important that Watford, his parent club, wanted to see the extent of his injury, which we facilitated this week.

“Anybody knows that shoulder surgery is an extensive period of time out - probably about three months.

“Hopefully it’s sooner, but the main things is he comes back fit and strong.

“I think when they looked at it, such was the damage, that to build it back up again it would probably have popped again.

“So the surgery reinforces it and makes it stronger and he will go on to have, which I certainly think he will, a wonderful career.”
