TEENAGER Ross Worswick began his second single-seater season with a sixth place finish at the opening event at Donnington Park last Sunday.
The 18-year-old from Blackburn is taking part in the Formula Renault BARC FR2000 Championship.
And after taking his maiden victory competing in the series last year, he finished a very creditable fourth in the overall 2006 standings.
This year, Ross, who races under the pseudonym Rossi, joined 37 other competitors on the grid for the first event and qualified in fifth place.
Wheel to wheel battles with Ollie Hancock and David McDonald during the 14 lap race kept Rossi on his toes, and after swapping places on four consecutive laps with McDonald, he eventually claimed sixth place.
Rounds two and three of the Formula Renault BARC Championship take place at the Croft circuit, North Yorkshire, on May 19/20.
