ROSSENDALE Golf club celebrated victory in the ELGA Scratch Shield and President's Trophy held at Wilpshire Golf Club but it was Nelson star Curtis Clarkin who stole the show.
Lancashire star Clarkin helped propel his Nelson team into a share of first place for the title after a course record 63.
Clarkin, a regular in county squads, was among the early starters and his gross mark contained an incredible seven birdies.
There was just one blemish on his round with a solitary dropped shot and his magnificent mark secured him the Scratch Medal.
But despite his heroics Clarkin and his Nelson team could not take the overall victory as Rossendale claimed the honour on a card play-off.
The pair finished just ahead of Pleasington in the running after a competitive day of golf.
And it was Rossendale who held their nerve in the play off to claim victory.
Daniel Leigh was the star for the victors as he carded a superb 68 lowered to 66 once his handicap had been taken into account.
Ashley Siddle, playing off scratch, shot 70 while Sean Doherty, off plus three, carded a 72. The team's other member Chris Nicholls also had an encouraging round as the three handicap man carded a 74.
The champions were given more reason to celebrate as they also claimed the President's Trophy for the best Nett.
Rossendale scores: Sean Doherty: 72 (+3) =75, Chris Nicholls 74 (3) =71, Ashley Siddle – 70 (Scr) =70, Daniel Leigh 68 (2) =66
