EAST Lancashire's Sophie Lamb played her part as England claimed a second place finish in the Nations Cup event in Germany.
Teenager Lamb was joined by Hollie Muse and Lizzie Prior in the girls team as the three finished second to the hosts in sweltering temperatures.
The Clitheroe star shot an eight over par opening round not helped by a triple bogey on the 16th to lie in a tie of 59th after day one.
Lamb improved on day two where a run of three birdies in four holes meant she was level par playing the final three holes.
But, after a bogey at 16, the 17th came back to haunt her again as she shot double bogey, before dropping another shot at the last.
That gave her a 12 over par total and meant she played no part in the final round.
But Muse, leading after two days, secured a seventh place finish overall while Prior came home in a share of 16th meaning England were still able to finish runners-up.
That position was matched by the boys team with Germany also winning their event.
