MICHAEL Hunt led the East Lancashire charge at the Lancashire Amateur Championships last weekend.
The Pleasington star finished in 14th place at Bolton Golf Club after a consistent four rounds.
Hunt shot an opening round 72 to lie firmly in contention but a second round 75 dropped him down the leaderboard. He responded with a 73 in round three before shooting another 75 to close 11 shots behind winner Ian Kenwright (Haydock Park).
Hunt's clubmate Jonathan Hurst was also in the field and he came home in 22nd after a 17 over par total not helped by a second round 77.
He finished two places ahead of Burnley's Anthony Keenan who had three straight rounds of 73 under his belt before a final round 78 saw him drop out of the top 20.
Joey Lamb (Wilpshire) was a shot further back while Burnley's Gary Blades rounded out the top 30 with a 301 total.
Nelson's Curtis Clarkin was 46th after missing the cut following rounds of 75 and 67 while Tom Stuart (Pleasington) and Shaun Field (Nelson) were a shot further adrift.
Daniel Redding (Rossendale) carded rounds of 72 and 82 to finish 58th, a shot clear of Clitheroe's Mark Ashworth and Craig Allison as well as Pleasington's John Blahuta.
Daniel Leigh (Rossendale) finished 69th, Wilpshire's James Holt came home in 72nd and Blackburn's Anthony Harwood was 78th.
Ian Hardman (Accrington) was 80th, Ashley Siddle (Rossendale) 84th, Ian Owens (Burnley) 90th, Chris Nicholls (Rossendale) 92nd and Pleasington's Andrew Walsh 97th.
Burnley's Andrew Riley came home 108th ahead of Clitheroe's Tom Forrest in 110th.
