NEIL ALEXANDER has revealed he's amazed a top Premiership club hasn't swooped for Craig Gordon.

Speculation over Gordon's future at Hearts has raged for months. And the Tynecastle skipper remonstrated with jeering fans following last Saturday's 4-0 trouncing at home to Dundee United.

But Cardiff City keeper Alexander reckons Gordon is good enough to play for Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester United. He said: "I am surprised that an English club hasn't come in for Craig yet.

"He has got the potential to play at the highest level in England and I think it's only a matter of time until he does.

"I've trained with some fantastic keepers like Jim Leighton, Andy Goram, Robert Douglas and Neil Sullivan as well as other great keepers down in England, and Craig has to be up there with them."
