ACCRINGTON Stanley manager John Coleman has revealed that midfielder Rommy Boco is still a few weeks away from being back to his best.

The Benin international starred in his side's 2-1 defeat at the hands of Senegal on Wednesday night.

It was while representing his country last year that the 21-year-old injured his back, which saw him sidelined until last month.

This time Coleman made the journey himself across the English Channel just to make sure his star man came through the 90 minutes unscathed.

He said: "He played the full match. I wasn't nervous watching him, he can look after himself and, to be fair he looked okay."

Boco, who signed for Stanley in August 2005, had made a blistering start to the season, including two goals in the Reds' first win on their return to League football - ironically in a 2-1 win over tomorrow's opponents Barnet.

His absence coincided with the departures of Ian Craney and Gary Roberts and an alarming slump in form.

Since his return to the side, Stanley have picked up four points out of a possible 10, but Coleman warned fans they have still to see the best of the wing wizard.

He said: "I think he's still a couple of games off full fitness but he's getting there."

The Reds were handed a further boost this week with the return of left winger Shaun Whalley and experienced defender Alan Rogers, who have both completed their respective suspensions, and the international clearance given to new Portuguese defender Mauro Almeida Although tomorrow's match at Underhill has come too soon for captain Peter Cavanagh and Danny Ventre, who started training again this week after recovering from injury, Coleman was looking forward to having a full squad to choose from, in what is going to be a make-or-break time for his side.

He said: "This will give us good competition."

And while the Bees may be above them in the league and the trip to London looks very difficult on paper, the Reds boss was eagerly awaiting the encounter after defeat at home last week against Chester.

Coleman added: "I think this will be a slightly easier game for us (than Chester). Barnet will come out and play football and I think it will be an open game."
