YOUNG judo star Jacob Walton has been inspired by the Olympics to stick at his sport.
The Year Seven Blessed Trinity Roman Catholic College student is a member of Burnley Judo Club who train at Energize on Barden Lane.
Jacob, 11, has been competing since he was nine-years-old and is making his way through the belts - he is now on red, having collected a white, yellow and orange belt along the way.
“My friend introduced me to judo as there was a space on one of their sessions and I have loved it every since,” said Jacob.
“I train twice a week and compete and, ever since I watched judo at the 2012 London Olympics, I know there is no other sport for me.
“I won’t quit. I was inspired by the Olympics and I thought ‘I want to do that’ and I am determined.”
