DAVID Lloyd Chorley 1 started 2015 as they had ended 2014 with another win on their relentless march to a first North West Counties Squash League Division One title.

The runaway league leaders made it 12 wins out of 12 with an emphatic 20-4 win over Alderely Edge 1 - with 2013 world champion Laura Massaro playing her part.

The world number three is currently in New York competing in the Tournament of Champions but she warmed up with a 3-1 win over Oliver Harris. Husband Danny was also in winning form but he was pushed all the way, coming from behind to win 3-2.

There was also victories for James Earles, Guhan Senthikumar and young Issac Rawcliffe.

In Division Three Central North, East Lancs 1 hold a 10-point lead over Blackpool CC 1 thanks to a 18-5 win over Penwortham 1.

Al-Asan Ulhaq, Eric Knowles, Tim Metcalfe and Shaun McKenaa all won their matches.

Crow Wood 1 from Burnley won their local battle with Blackburn Northern 1, winning 17-7 thanks to victories for Nick Uttley, James Owen, Ian Bannister and Jimmy Nelson.

And in another local battle, Blackburn Northern 2 beat DL Chorley 3 17-8. In Division Four North East, leaders Haslingden beat Blackburn Northern 4 20-1 with Gordon Gilcrest, Nick Cooper, Tom McVicker, Simon Holland and Michael Hodgson all winning.

Third-placed East Lancs 2 went down 15-8 to Blackburn Northern 3, Ken Craven, Andrew Murray and Russell Heaton all winning for Northern.

And in Division Five NE, St Peters Burnley 1 are second after beating Rochdale CLS 6 20-2 thanks to a clean sweep of victories for Graham Riley, Steve Morris, Rod Taggart, Dan Whittaker and Nic Czernianin.
