SEAN Dyche insists he has no concerns over Danny Ings’ contract situation with the striker’s deal expiring at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old has yet to put pen to paper on a new contract and would be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club in January.

If no deal is signed with the Clarets he will be free to talk to other Premier League clubs in June, although Burnley would receive a fee for him as he is under 24.

The England Under 21 striker has hit top form of late, with six goals in his last six starts for club and country, and Dyche said conversations with Ings and his agent over the player’s future were continuing.

“We discuss with all our players and their agents, we’re very open, it’s an ongoing process,” explained the Burnley manager. “We’ve had it all before, it’s just the nature of your players doing well.

“It is what it is, it happens across the market, we just keep open communication with players and their agents. I’m no more concerned than I was two years ago when I came here and looked at the players I thought were very good and improving, it’s just part of the business.

“I can say at this moment he’s a Burnley player, he wants to be a Burnley player and that’s quite obvious from his goals.

“Who knows what the future will bring? It’s just the reality of the business.

“He’s enjoying what he’s doing and we’re enjoying having him here.”

Ings has been linked with tonight’s opponents Newcastle in the past, but their boss Alan Pardew said there had never been a formal approach from St James Park to Burnley.

“In Ings Burnley have a player who is impressing at the moment,” he said.

“We get linked with all sorts of players, I don’t know if he’s been linked with us but we certainly haven’t bid or made an offer for him in a previous window.

“But he’s a Burnley player and I think they would find the question (about Newcastle interest) disrespectful.”
