Blackburn 88 Tarleton 7

BLACKBURN took their points tally to over 400 for the season in just nine matches following a 14-try romp against Tarleton – and all this after the visitors had opened the scoring.

Sam Morgan finally broke his try-scoring duck for the season – eventually crossing the whitewash twice – as 10 different players touched down for red-hot Blackburn.

Just two weeks after beating Furness 100-0, Blackburn were at their try scoring best once again.

Luke Cunningham was first to touch down before Matt Hughes played in Jake Maher to scored the second try which was converted by Morgan.

The talented Morgan then finally scored his first try of the season scoring out wide.

And the bonus point was soon achieved when Jordan Pearson barged his way over to score.

Sean Hall ran in from 30m and two minutes later Hughes was put in to space out wide with extra added.

Hughes scored his second, with Morgan converting, and Blackburn led 41-7 at the break.

Hall scored his second soon after the restart – Morgan converted – before Nathan Bowen became the seventh different player to score.

Rick Maudsley scored two quick tries which Morgan converting both.

Cunningham thought he had scored his second but was held up just short but Marc Maher was on hand to score. Morgan again added the extras.

Following several phases, Tom Marland picked up and dived over the line before Morgan scored his second and Blackburn’s 14th try.
