BURNLEY’S Premier League opener with Chelsea on Monday night is set to be a sell-out with Turf Moor ticket chiefs saying only a few hundred remain on sale.

The Clarets play their first top-flight fixture for five seasons when Jose Mourinho’s side come to town and it is expected the remaining tickets will be snapped up over the weekend. Chelsea have sold out their allocation of 4,036.

Meanwhile, Burnley have been drawn at home to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday in the Capital One Cup second round.

“It’s good to be at home and it’s a good challenge,” said Dyche.

“The Championship, as we found last year, is a tough league so I don’t think there’s anything other than the thought of going hard in that game to win it. That will be our focus for sure.”

The tie will be played in the week commencing August 25 with an exact date yet to be announced.

Well, there is something you are not going to hear over in Royston Vasey this season, a sell out, more lucky to get more than 14, 000 a game. How times have changed.

The Royston Vasey gag is one you had already been christened with years ago pal - it goes hand in hand with the the dingle tag, inbreading, knuckle dragging, hairy palms, six fingers, rednecks etc etc. Your Premier League status, whilst hilarious, doesn't alter the fact you are what you are - the original backward hillbillies - The redneck capital of the north.

Rovers game against Cardiff in the TV curtain raiser for the Championship. Was that a sell out ?
The game where they got very excited about a home draw against a team that had just come down from the Premiership.
Cardiff managed by a guy with no experience of managing in the Premiership or the Championship as a matter of fact, which by the way the fools down the road keep bringing up about SD.
Sorry drifted off , where was I , oh yes was it a sell out I asked. I did notice for this opening game of the season and on TV and the fact it's cheap as chips to get into deadwood, that when I watched a bit of that dire game, the one thing that stood out was . No not how bad both teams were but all those empty seats . Lot's and lot's of empty seats.
That is as dire as there football, there manager and there season.
A big well done to the Claret and Blue................
.......Scunthorpe for a fantastic win the other night . Well deserved especially when the opposing manager shows no respect and underestimates teams from the other leagues.
