BURNLEY midfielder Scott Arfield has today put pen to paper on a new three-year deal at Turf Moor.
The 25-year-old was instrumental in helping the Clarets clinch automatic promotion in his first season with the club, after arriving on a free transfer from Huddersfield Town last summer.
The Scot made 49 league and cup appearances, scoring nine goals.
Arfield initially arrived on a two-year deal, but his contract has now been extended to the summer of 2017.
“We had a great year last season and this is a club going in the right direction so I’m made up to be a part of that," he said.
“I’m delighted to have extended my deal with the club as this is where I want to be playing my football under this management.
“I felt like I was getting back to my best last season and a massive factor behind that was because I was enjoying my football and I felt I could go out and express myself."
