FORMER Blackburn Rovers boss Michael Appleton has been named as the new head coach of Oxford United.

The 38-year-old has been appointed after manager Gary Waddock was sacked as part of an ownership shake-up at the League Two outfit.

It is Appleton's first job since he was sacked by Rovers in March 2013 after 67 days in the hotseat.

Meanwhile, former Rovers caretaker manager Eric Black has been appointed as a coach at Wigan Athletic.

Black was in charge at Ewood Park for six games after Steve Kean's departure in September 2012.

Exactly... his work here is done. And he left with a sweet pay-off too, as is the norm at this laughingstock of a football club.

Nice one.

Have you heard yourself? the jealousy you feel towards the Rovers is
unreal, you cant stand the fact that your little club will be back where they belong next season and the might blues will be looking down on you once again, never mind, enjoy your season while it lasts.....

You treat him like S**t like other managers. Im glad he got a pay out off the Trampwood Circus. You tramps are all jealous of successful managers including Sir Steve Kean who is doing well for himself in Brunei.
