BLACKBURN Rovers’ owners Venky’s did not attend the 0-0 home draw with Yeovil Town.

Balaji and Venkatesh Rao were present at Ewood Park 24 hours earlier for a civic reception for the Queen.

But they not return to the ground to see Rovers miss the chance to move within two points of the Championship play-offs.

It is understood that the Rao brothers and their fellow directors of Venky’s London Limited – their sister Anuradha Desai and her husband Jitendra Desai – have taken the decision to stay away from Ewood this season in order not to distract attention away from the club’s bid to finish in the top six.

The last time Venky’s publically appeared at a Rovers home match, against Charlton Athletic on January 19, 2013, Jitendra Desai was hit in the face by a snowball thrown by a fan as he made his way into the ground with his wife.

Venky’s London Limited bought a 99.9 per cent stake in Rovers in November 2010.

At the time the club was 14th in the Premier League.

Today Rovers are 10th in the Championship, four points off the play-off positions.

Nor did they take the opportunity to meet fans groups behind close doors, meet local comunity leaders or local politicans about BRFC and continuing issues.

Who said they'd learned and who said they really wanted to build bridges with fans and the local comunity ? - Not much sign of them trying very hard.

We need a statement of intent along the lines of "This is what we want to achieve with Blackburn Rovers and this is how we are going to attempt to do it".

Simple really.

Oh, and something along the lines of "Sorry for f*****g your club up".

I remember the Glazers turning up at Old Trafford many times when the protests were very strong against them, at least they had the stomach for the fight. It was an ideal opportunity for the Venkys to show their faces yesterday. I think there have been improvements in the past year in terms of the administration so whilst they are not popular owners, maybe they would have got a slightly less hostile reception. Yesterday was a day to forget quickly, like so many others this season!

Statements from Venkys are useful if you want to start another period of raking over all the bad history and invite all the nutters to start spouting off again.

Seriously, nobody will believe anything they say so why bother, it will achieve absolutely nothing but more bad press and speculation.

As much as I despise what they have done I don't believe they wanted it to turn out like this and any apology would not ring true. I would prefer they are the silent partners in this arrangement.

I can agree to disagree on this one Nick.

Well, who's fault is that GS? ........Some honesty from the owners would go a long way to appeasing a lot of people. Here was a perfect opportunity to make a statement at a time when the team are doing 'reasonably well' compared to the last couple of seasons, but to sneak into Ewood through the 'back door' and then make a quick get away does nothing to enhance their reputation.
Do they care ?????????

I'll think you'll find it says they made a decision to stay away this season so the focus is on football. So that would indicate it was a premeditated decision. One they’ve stuck to , rightly or wrongly.

Do you mean the same sort of nutters who keep the bankers' actions in focus? As opposed to the swallowers of the "let's move on" mantra? It seems to me that the thousands not attending Ewood anymore will not countenance propaganda anymore, and the Venkys know it. And the match at St. Andrews on Monday? Expect a horrible low attendance for a Bank Holiday match with the state of Birmingham City and their foreign owner. A draw will leave both sets of supporters really cheesed off....I can hear the groans now. Up Rovers!

Ahh diddums the emasculated Poppa Desai got hit in the facey-wacey by a naughty snowey-ball.

The Loons stayed away because they have zero interest in or aptitude for the game of football. Totally transparent that these innocents abroad were kippered by the spivs and sharks that infested Ewood four years ago.

What is most frustrating about these people is that because of some juvenile, immature sense of pride they refuse to learn from or even acknowledge their mistakes. prefering to simply repeat them over and over again. I don't need an apology, just stop being idiotic.

With a proper manager (unafraid to tell the owners how its done) this squad could have clinched promotion. Do they think that the likes of Ferguson, Miurinho, Rodgers, Dyche or Mackay (to name just a few) are continually blowing smoke up the owner's harris?

Unfortunately we have suffered the ignominy of being the vanity project of individuals who have had their elevated position dropped into their laps. Not until they stop sulking and digging their heels in will this club progress beyond mid-table Chumpionship mediocrity.

But what of Blackburn Rovers is they decide to pull out their investment? Who will keep you afloat then? Who will pay the wage bill and service the £60million debt?

I think you are now unfortunately reliant on the Venky's which does not bode well for the next two seasons during which time I'm sure they will make the decision to depart, the question is will there be much of a club left once they have minimised their losses on this disastrous investment and more importantly what division will they leave you in.

The club's debt of more than £20 million was there before Venky's takeover of the club.
The club was up for sale as the Walker family and Rover's Chairman John Williams the club was looking for new investors .The club was put up for sale three years ago before the Venky's takeover as there were no other interested buyer.
Many football cubs in Premier League and Championship were looking for Investors as many clubs like Rovers had debts and looking for investments.
If Venkys walk out now Rovers will end up in administration.
There are not many billionaires around the world want to invest into a football club just purely for pleasure of others. There are 1468 billionaires around the world do you think they all want to come here in UK to invest in our football clubs ?

Maybe, but we wouldn't have done if they had stayed in India and kept their noses out of something they know nothing about.

What they have done is like me going over there and telling them how to make a curry !!!!!!!!!

Dave, you fall down big time on one simple fact, there are thousands of fans like me who despise Venky's for what they have done to the club, their arrogance, their inability to communicate; etc; etc.

I for one don't know a single fan on match day who has a good word for them, I don't, the only thing I give them credit for is their continued financial support, because without that small crumb of comfort we would be dead and buried.

But we the hardcore fans still turn up and support the club.

Venky's don't turn up to support the club they own.

You and your mythical thousands of part time, or should that be good time? Fans don't turn up to support the club.

But you whinge and whine on here, as I said, pot, kettle, black.
