LFA launch league for veterans

THE Lancashire FA is appealing to the county’s ‘golden oldies’ to enter a new veterans summer 11-a-side league.

The LFA is introducing a veteran’s summer 11v11 league, with basic rules and regulations to suit the ‘older player’.

It will be the first stage in further developing veteran’s football within the County.

The league is opehn to players over 40 and all matches will be played at the LFA’s state of the art 3G football turf pitch.

It will be free to register – - although teams will need to provide proof of their own personal accident insurance cover – with matches officiated by FA qualified referees There will be an induction evening with refreshments and the league is due to run from June to August.

“The new veterans initiative aims to target those who no longer play football and also those who still occasionally get together for a friendly kickabout.
