KICKING king Sam Wold was Burnley’s star turn as the youngster produced a splendid performance to lead his side to derby victory.

In a hotly contested derby contest, Jack Irvine went over for Burnley's opening try after winger Chris Knowles had provided the ammunition following some great work.

Wold converted the try.

Knowles touched down himself following a brilliant sprint, with Wold again converting.

Full back Harry Smyles then got in on the act, going over with Wold converting the extra points.

All-action Wold then became a try scorer himself, finishing off a slick move - and his trusty boot fired over the conversion.

Burnley piled on the pressure further, captain and scrum half Henry Wilkes landing two tries.

Smales grabbed Burnley's final try, again converted by Wold.
