Lancashire Telegraph: At a glance: Derby day matchwinners...Brian Hall At a glance: Derby day matchwinners...Brian Hall

BRIAN Hall joined Burnley in 1977 in the twighlight of his career having previously made over 150 appearances under Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley at Liverpool.

It was clear that Hall was past his best and the two years he spent at Turf Moor were far from memorable, apart from one day in 1979.

That day was April 14, the last time Burnley enjoyed a victory over their bitter rivals.

Simon Garner had put Rovers in front at Ewood Park and they looked set to avenge their defeat at Turf Moor earlier in the season.

Tony Morley equalised before Hall plundered the winner late on to stun the home crowd.

That was one of only three goals Hall scored for the Clarets before leaving in 1980 and going into teaching.

He returned to Liverpool as their head of PR in 1991 and remained there before retiring in 2012.

Why are we digging up this old story - it only reinforces how long it is since we had any luck agaianst them and that e've only been able to sign second rate has beens. I'm sure there's a hidden agenda at the LET. We're cr@p and we know it though we don't need the supposedly impartial LET highlighting it

Yep and ironically enough those SECOND rate has-beens have managed to get us five points clear in SECOND place.

It really hurts to be you doesn't it Fake Villa? It must be awful.

I'm not sure who Fake Villa is. Nothing hurts - as I've been saying all along, I'm enjoying this season though I simply don't expect it to last. We don't have the intrastructure or backing for it to be prolongued period of 'dominance'. I don't see the point in being anything other than honest and saying we're this or that when what's blindingly obvious is we're overachieving this season. It's a blip, a flash in the pan and we'll be on our arses again sooner rather than later.

Aww please Fake Ingdick you're not fooling anyone.

As someone who has been on every home game and four away games this season, I have NEVER ONCE heard anyone say that we are lucky this season as you seem to keep banging on about.
You talk about us not having the backing, if we get promoted we will be the best part of £120 million richer. And as a true Burnley supporter I feel that this season is the best football we have played for many a year.
We may come straight back down if we do go up (As a lot of the promoted sides do), but we will be in a better state financially and have a much better and bigger squad of players to attack the Championship with.

Anyway I back Dyche to have the nous to keep us up - look at the likes of Hull, Palace and Cardiff - OK so they are hardly challenging for Europe, but they are all fighting hard for survival and I would bet that at least two of them will stay up.

So stop posting on here, nobody is fooled, even the Blackburn posters know what a horses ar5e you are (Pardon the pun, I don't want you getting too excited at the mental image I have just conjured up for you)

Why would we be any better off if we went up - look at them and Bolton. My bet is Dyche would be on his way soon enough, we'd lose some of our existing players and sign some mediocre prem players on inflated salaries. Inevitably we'd come back down in a worse state. Only turmoil can follow going up. Been there, seen it, got the t-shirt. Haven't got any trophies mind.

What are you goin on about you shape shifting feck witt... Are the tablets wearing off, is it time for the next dose... Im wide awake after taking an over early evening and ready for a rant at you and your multiple personalities... I just feel its my turn!!!

I can live happily knowing that your deluded and your predictions are part of your relentless mantra of dribble falling from your fingers each spare moment you have... I hold my head in my hands and kind of shake my head laugh at your and the insignificance of your comment and the effort you put in to this...

The polar opposite of your deluded rants is happening in reality!!! You do realize...

Where do you Troll when your not phychologically twisting your mind and obsessing yourself over Burnley Blogs???

It must be difficult...

We are having an amazing season, breaking all records, etc etc etc. This list is just carrying on... Thanks to Dyche and all the team!!!

Im sure your doctor doesnt understand does he? I dont think your getting the tabs or the service your needin... Try talking to him about your dillusions! Im sure your key worker has just given up and leaves you to blog the hell out of Burnley Blogs with this garbage, rather than have a conversation with you about it. You over obsessed name changing pillock...

Im loving the situation we are in now, the team we have now is the best Ive seen, under an amazing manager motivating and teaching them, supported by the board we have... We are building, together we are going in the Prem this year, im convinced now!!! Even though Im trying to stick to Dyches Mantra of next game.

We will build again with a board and yes of course unfortunately eventually under a new manager of course.

I think that Dyche will stay with us at least one or two seasons in the Prem to really prove himself as a Premier League manager. That would be the most intelligent move to get a good Premier Club (and I think he is that good) and he seems quite switched on to me...

2 seasons of Dyche with a budget in the Prem. He understands the game and the players. And Burnley understand from our last visit to the Prem what it entails. So he will get the support as were not carrying the same debts.

We have a good TEAM from top down with passion... Why because they were Burnley fans before becoming directors.

I would be concentrating on the REALITY of your own clubs fortunes if I was you!!! But thanks for your deluded concern.. Every thing is going completely in the opposite direction to what your predicting. So please continue and amuse us with your mental health!

there are no guarantees that burnley will get promotion
lot of points to play four starting with sundays battle at ewood
a lot of burnley supporters are coming on here with the assumption that
burnley are already in the premier league now that would be a silly mistake to make in this league some of them are spending the premier league cash before this season is over if that's not counting your chickens before they hatch
then I don't know what is
