Blackburn Rovers have appointed Mike Cheston as financial director.

Cheston, who hails from Chorley, brings a wealth of experience to the role after serving as the head of finance at Everton and working with the Football League Trust.

Rovers' managing director Derek Shaw said of the appointment: "It has taken a while to find the right person with the right credentials and Mike certainly fits the bill.

"He has met with the Owners and we are very pleased he is joining Blackburn Rovers.

"He will strengthen our Board and our day-to-day operations."

Cheston will take up his position on March 17.

Good luck Derek but why did we have to go out of town to get this appointment?

In my opinion Chorley isnt local.

What next Liverpool tops in Blackburn Tesco? Or Man Utd replica kits in the back of cars on Fecitt Brow?

A very credible and experienced new board member whose appointment can help restore a little of all the credibility and respect that the previous board had before the night of the long knives......the corner has definitely not been turned yet - but at least we are approaching it now and going in the right direction
