BURNLEY West End are the new leaders in the Burnley Sunday League Premier Division.

With Prairie Athletic out of action, Westend crushed strugglers St Pauls 7-3 to take charge at the top.

The goals were flowing in the Towneley Cup too, with Sabden and Boars Head sharing eleven goals in the preliminary round match of the day.

Boars Head edged it 6-5, though, while Railway Club steamed into the next round, crushing sorry Craven Heifer 5-0.

The shock of the day was Stanley Black Cats' win over Premier Division outfit Ultra Finishing.

Black Cats are rooted to the foot of Division One, but they were purring with delight after a stunning 5-3 victory.

Barrowford Celtic took a break from their league struggles - and enjoyed a fine 4-3 win over Division One title challengers FC Bacup.

Also in the cup, League Two leaders General Williams eased past Glendale 4-0 while Hare and Hounds proved just too strong for Britannia, scoring a 4-3 win.

In Division Two, AFC Burnley crashed 5-1 at home to Turf, while AFC Booth cruised to a 3-0 win over strugglers Gannow.
