BURNLEY United eased their relegation fears with a priceless victory over West Lancashire League Premier Division strugglers Tempest United.

Matt Carter had fired the Bolton outfit in front early on, but a splendid fightback saw Peter Dugdale, Oliver Wood and Anthony McLoughlin secure United a welcome 3-1 win.

Longridge Town saw their scheduled game against Crooklands Casuals postponed, but just up the road Hurst Green are going great guns in Division One and a Danny Mort hat trick saw them crush Poulton 7-1 at Avenue Road.

An Oliver McLean double and a John Welsh strike saw Hurst Green produce another terrific show to bolster third place.

Turton were also impressive winners, clocking up a 4-2 win at Furness Rovers.

Keiran Sisson led the charge in Cumbria with a quick-fire hat trick while Dave Hanlon also cashed in. Mill Hill St Peters' fixture at Dalton United was called off.

Todmorden Borough saw Lee Earnshaw, Ben Whittam and Dave Patrick on the mark as they produced one of the best away wins of the campaign, cruising to a 3-1 win at Croston Sports.

Haslingden St Marys were in red hot form at Townsend Street with Lee Cartwight, Jonathan Booth and a Danny Wade double easing them to a 4-0 win over Stoneclough.

Haslingden's second string went down 2-0 at Lostock St Gerards in Division One Reserves action, but Burnley's United's home game against Coppull United Reserves was postponed.

In Division Two Reserves, Mill Hill St Peters Reserves thrashed Milnthorpe Corinthians 4-0 with Michael Jackson (2), Steven Birko and Simon Cowling on the mark.

Hurst Green Reserves surrendered a 2-0 advantage at Poulton after Zach Foley and Stuart Davies had put them in charge, but they eventually had to settle for a point in an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Turton Reserves (Tom Gilbertson, George Holliday, Adam Leslie) went down 4-3 at home to Lytham Town.
