Hoddlesden have leapfrogged to the top of the table courtesy of an 8-0 win over Stanhill in the Blackburn and Darwen Snooker League.

The home team brought out the big guns and Steve Hill got the ball rolling with a comfortable defeat of Pete Drane. Phil Whipp overcame Dave O’Shaughnessy in the second and it was downhill from there.

The table topping clash up at the Park ended honours even at 4-4 with Fox and Hounds.

As anticipated it was a tense, hard fought affair between the two evenly matched teams. Park skipper Mark Jennings thrived under the responsibility of guiding his team with a delightful little run of 43.

Third-placed Greenfield beat Mill Hill Hotel 5-3 in no small part to the dynamic duo of Craig Steele and Chris Lawson who seem intent on outperforming each other, both remain undefeated with six straight wins each. Blackburn Golf Club A finally got their season rolling with an impressive 7-1 win over Park B. West View bounced back from last week’s 7-1 thumping to win an entertaining encounter at Cherry Tree cricket club winning 5-3 with new boy Mick Jackson getting his first win of the season for West View.

In Division 2, Feniscowles ran out 7-1 winners over Hole I'th Wall to move up to third place.

Second-placed VIP Snooker A drew 4-4 at the Borough.

Orchard WMC could not kick on from last week’s first win going down 7-1 at home to Blackburn Golf B while VIP Snooker B held to a draw at home by Darwen team Anchor Hotel.
