Steven Burke and Bradley Wiggins have both been named in British Cycling’s funded athletes list for the 2013-14 campaign which includes the Rio Olympics.
Burke, who won gold at London 2012 in the team pursuit is again expected to line up in that event and he could be joined by 2012 Tour de France champion Wiggins who is named alongside the Colne ace in the men’s endurance list.
Wiggins has concentrated on the road over the past few seasons but has recently claimed he would like to return to the track for Rio.
Mark Cavendish, another who has focused on the road in recent seasons, is also on the list.
