BURNLEY striker Danny Ings has been rewarded for his fine start to the season with a call-up to the England Under 21 squad.

Ings, 21, who has not been capped at international level before, will link up with Gareth Southgate’s squad next week.

The Clarets ace has scored 10 goals in just 13 games this season to fire Burnley to the top of the Championship table.

England Under 21s travel to San Marino on Thursday, October 10, and host Lithuania at Portman Road on Tuesday, October 15.

Ings will return to Burnley ahead of the trip to Ipswich Town on Saturday, October 19.

Blackburn Rovers right back Todd Kane, who has featured in the last two squads without making an appearance, has been left out.
