BUOYANT Barrowford climbed away from trouble in the Mewies Solicitors Craven and District Cricket League Division One as they relished a day in the sunshine at Bull Holme.

The locals, who have been having a tough time of things this term, had been flirting with the drop zone thanks to just three wins from their first 11 games.

But they grabbed a fourth success of the term thanks to an impressive show against Bingley Congregational.

Jahangir Babar and Nigel Jones both claimed four wickets as the Villagers bowled out Bingley for 155.

The chase was not exactly straightforward as Barrowford lost eight wickets but Nick Burton’s 55 was enough to take them over the line.

But while they could celebrate, both Thornton and Foulridge were beaten and occupy the bottom two places in Division One.

Pendle Forest lifted themselves out of the Division Two drop zone as they won a thrilling game at Wilsden.

Forest looked on course to complete a win as they chased down 170-9 but a clatter of wickets left them wobbling before they finally crossed the line with nine wickets down.

And Barrowford seconds paid for a series of dropped catches saw them beaten at Long Lee.

Chatburn seconds stayed clear at the top of Division Three and on course for promotion as they claimed a fine win over Ingrow St John’s seconds.

Andrew Booth and Dominc Stuart claimed four wickets each as Ingrow were bowled out for 58 before Chatburn eased home.
