THE Foster’s Lancashire League Moorhouse’s Twenty20 season may have come to an end with Lowerhouse claiming the 2013 crown – but there is an special game on Friday that will feature the champions professional Francois Haasbroek.

The South African will turn out for the Ninth Regiment Air Corps team in a match against Colne to raise money for Help for Heroes.

The game has been organised by Colne player Phil Chester, who has done two tours of Afghanistan, and the match promises bit-hitting entertainment as Haasbroek locks horns with his fellow countryman Shadley van Shalkwyk.

Admission to the match is £2 with music from Crash and the game starts at 6pm.

Meanwhile, Colne manager Gary Hunt donned his whites once again at the weekend to cover for a shortage of players – and the veteran spinner didn’t disappoint, even though his men lost to Todmorden.

Hunt bowled five cheap overs before hitting 39 at The Horsfield, the second highest score behind van Shalkwyk’s 61.
