Abigail Birkbeck has been awarded a place at Sale Sharks Premiership Rugby Academy.
The Blackburn RUFC youngster earned her place after impressing one of the Land Rover sponsored Premiership Rugby Academies, which consists of over 200 courses nationwide.
The Premiership Rugby Academy provided Abigail Birkbeck with the opportunity to receive training directly from professional Sale Sharks players and coaches, offering the best advice and insight into what it takes to reach the top level of the sport.
Jonny Acheson of Sale Sharks said, “Abigail worked really hard and showed great commitment to progressing her skills and is thoroughly deserving of a place on Sale Sharks Premiership Rugby Academy Camp.”
A delighted Abigail added: “I’m really looking forward to getting some tips and learning some new skills to use next season.
“It will also be amazing to meet some Premiership Rugby players.”
