THE race for Foster’s Golden Cup glory is hotting up after both the small table and large table competitions reached the quarter final stages.
And to add extra intrigue all eight ties will be held at Ighten Leigh Social Club in the comining weeks.
In the small table, S Almond of Clitheroe RBL takes on Briercliffe’s B Collinge, G Brelsford of Loveclough is up against S Shepherd of Lamb Club, J Kershaw, also of Lamb Club challenges D Cregg of St Andrews and P Averill of St Andrews faces R Nelson of Loveclough.
On the large table, J Clark of Padiham SC is up against D Payton (Rolls Royce), D Emery takes on L Bannister in an all Colne SC quarter final clash, A Dibb of ILSC faces M Taylor of Colne SC with D Howe of Beaconsfield Con playing B Hindle of BSC for a place in the last four.
All matches will be best of five frames and will be played on Mondays and Tuesdays.
