BLACKBURN Rovers are interested in Swiss under 21 international Frederic Veseli – while Mark Hughes is pondering a bid to take Martin Olsson to Stoke.

Rovers boss Gary Bowyer is continuing his attempts to strengthen his squad, and has made Todd Kane his fourth signing of the summer.

It is understood that Rovers are also keen to bring in Veseli, who surprisingly left Manchester United at the end of the season.

The 20-year-old, who previously spent time as a youngster at Manchester City, is mainly a centre back but can also play at full back or in midfield.

There is thought to be competition for Veseli, with clubs in the Premier League and the Championship linked together with sides in Italy and Germany.

But while Rovers attempt to add to their squad there remains interest in some of their own players, including Olsson.

It is understood that Stoke are keen to strengthen at left back this summer and the Swede is believed to be on a list of only two or three potential targets.

Hughes was Rovers manager when Olsson joined the club from Hogaborgs in 2006, and Stoke are seriously considering making an offer.

Norwich have also held an interest in Olsson, although Rovers denied reports that they had received a bid from the Canaries.
