BLACKBURN Rovers have appealed for fans to replicate the cauldron of the Den and turn up in their numbers to roar the club to Wembley tomorrow night.

Rovers host Millwall in an FA Cup quarter final replay knowing victory would give them their first trip to England’s national stadium since 1995.

The club face a quick turnaround to sell tickets for tomorrow’s match at Ewood Park but have urged supporters to rally behind the team and help set up a semi final with Wigan, which would give Rovers a realistic chance of reaching the final and next season’s Europa League.

Boss Michael Appleton was pleased to emerge from Sunday’s first match in south London with a 0-0 draw, with Rovers finding life difficult in the hostile atmosphere of the Den.

And operations director Paul Agnew has called on Rovers fans to make it equally difficult for Millwall when they travel to Ewood tomorrow.

“As a lifelong Rovers fan I can count on one hand how many times I’ve been to a game at Ewood Park where the prize is a game at Wembley,” Agnew said.

“It is a wonderful opportunity for the club and the town, and the season needs it.

“We got through a very difficult game on Sunday.

“There were 15,000 there but it sounded like a lot more than that. I have been going to football for 20 or 30 years and there have been times when 50,000 haven’t made that noise. They made it really difficult for us and we want to replicate that noise.

“We had fantastic travelling support who helped us on Sunday and, although of course we don’t want it to be threatening, we want everyone to get behind the team and make it difficult for Millwall coming here.”

The game has been brought forward to a 7.30pm kick-off for live screening on ESPN.

Because of the short period to sell tickets, the club are unable to specially reserve season ticket holders’ usual seats. But, after agreement with Millwall, prices have been set at £18 for adults, £12 for senior citizens and students and £6 for under 15s.

Fans are advised to buy in advance to avoid queues on the night and Rovers are eager for the attendance to at least match their normal league gates, despite the short notice for the fixture.

Agnew said: “We are asking fans to dig deep and rally round the Rovers.

“We understand that it is expensive and that the Burnley game is coming up on Sunday, but we have tried to keep prices as low as possible with Millwall’s agreement.”
