No Tabb deal for Rovers
2:23pm Thursday 28th February 2013 in Sport
By Andy Cryer, Blackburn Rovers reporter
BLACKBURN Rovers boss Michael Appleton has rated the chances of a new loan signing joining the squad ahead of Saturday's clash with Peterborough at 50-50, having been unable to secure a move for Reading midfielder Jay Tabb.
The Rovers boss is actively seeking new arrivals owing to a lengthy injury list but one man not joining is Tabb.
Appleton confirmed an approach had been made to the Royals for the 29-year-old to move to Ewood Park on loan but the former Coventry man is seeking a more permanent deal.
The Rovers chief is monitoring a number of targets as he bids to strengthen his squad before the loan window closes.

Sad that this is now the height of our aspirations!!
From Beckham, ronaldinho etc..
To dj Campbell & tabb
Everyone keeps harping on about building for next season.
Next season we'll have no Givet, Olson, possibly Hanley and maybe even Rhodes (god help us!)!
Just cannot see it happening.
I think MA's honeymoon period is over, despite the injuries.
He HAD to get players in and hasn't, whether that was down to venkys - ????

That would be yet another class aquisition for Appleton. BFS used to scour the french leagues and spanish leagues for top up and coming talent, this fella just takes any rejects he can find.
OUT WITH THE LOT OF THEM

Some people get all glassy eyed about BFS but truth is most of the succesful players under him were already here. In fact Steve Kean had more sucessful signings than BFS. Truth hurts I know.

Who is Tabb? I've never heard of him. Is anybody else baffled as to why we've just left Rochina, Vuckevic and co go and we are getting unheard ofs probably less able players instead? What was the point?

Back then, he was a very positive, creative and attacking midfielder. Tends to work through the centre and always looking for forward passes. Excellent work rate as well. If he still possesses these traits then I believe he would bring some creativity which we desperately need in midfield to feed our lonely strikers

Bfs brought players like Jones and hoilett out of the academy Sewell unless you believe Steve kean.

MxMave wrote:Thats a much better statement, Hughes signed loads of players and there were many successes. Pity he won't come back. The shear amount of money wasted by Kean and Venkys would purchase many a good team. But we are stuck with what we have now. Murphy is pants and needs his contract terminating along with Etuhus then we can find better quality players on the way up, instead of on the way out.

I take it then that MA is "amazed"! Welcome to the mad world of Venkys where an inward deal can take months but shipping someone out is a piece of cake
