A PROUD Michael Appleton has hailed his Blackburn Rovers side after they moved into the FA Cup quarter finals with a 1-0 win at the Emirates Stadium.

Rovers stayed firm against heavy Arsenal pressure before Colin Kazim-Richards fired home the winner in the second half.

Appleton said: "I have said it for a while but it is about hard work, organisation and team effort. I thought the lads were fantastic.

"We will enjoy that and then focus on Hull City in the league on Tuesday night. Matches like that have to be great for the confidence.

"The fans were great and Im sure they will have a good night."

At this rate MA is going to get the freedom of Blackburn. The Rovers were pounded for ninety minutes, got a lucky goal and beat the mighty Arsenal at their own game.

Congratulations Appy and the lads. Rovers looked more organised than I've seen them for over 2 years and Williamson is someone who can close down space in the middle of the park. Something we've missed hugely since JJones left.

Fantastic result. I see 'Wenger Out' is the message from all the Arsenal fans - hilarious!

What. A. Result. I'm so chuffed I could burst with pride.

We defended like lions today, sat deep but looked completely organized, calm and resolute against a team who became increasingly desperate and agitated as they ran out of ideas.

And all the while all a confused Wenger could do was scream at the official as they ran out of hope. And the London media crowed "how could this happen?"

Perfect. A brilliant narrative and an excellent ending.

And when supporters of 'top clubs' ask me why I support Rovers, I just smile and say "you wouldn't understand"

Gradually the mess appears to be being sorted out. Michael Appleton seems to be a proper footballing type and the players appear to be responding. Very impressed with the clean sheets. This suggests that Derek Shaw is doing his job as well. Shebby Singh started out playing to the gallery and I went with him before realising the he wasn't on the same planet. The Venkys may be realising that they have been taken for a ride by some suspect advisors who have become wealthier at the Venkys expence. If things stabilise, things could yet return to where they were.

Slowly but surely we are getting back to being the football club we were. We will be slowly earning the respect of the other clubs. The media will be sitting up and taking notice of our appy chappy MA. The fans are coming round and hopefully coming back to Ewood. The owners will be taking notice of what happens when you have football people running the club. All we need now is to keep the run going. Then everything will be rosy again.

Another big improvement - most of the defence played the full 94 minutes and didn't look tired at the end. A few weeks ago that would not have happened. Kean and Hanley joint MOM.
We were lucky at times, but the whole team put a great shift in. Arsenal had 70% of the play, but without our nemesis Van Persie they are lacking a good finisher. They should have broken the Bank to keep him.

Great result today, lads put their bodies on the line and played their hearts out. Had a panic when the French man brought his three stars on, but it all fell well for us.

Really pleased for the lads. A lot of spirit their today and that counts for everything, each and every man playing for each other and the pride of the club

Your bragging will only prime others to start listing the huge social and environmental problems that India has. So please just become a Rovers supporter on here, not an Indian propagandist. Appleton is the closest thing we've had to Hughes. The fitness levels, the organisation, the will to win, the desire to put your body on the line and the tight togetherness of the squad. These are all qualities Appleton has instilled in this side in such a short space of time - and all the qualities that have been so sadly lacking for so long. He wasn't anyone's first choice but who'd swap him now?

Kean was outstanding in goal. The defence was vastly improved. The mid-field were hopeless as usual, completely unable to retain possession and at a loss for feeding the forwards. The game was played for 95 minutes in and around Rovers penalty area and the goal was a miss hit. Blackburn fans in great voice. All in all very enjoyable, but let's not pretend it was something that it wasn't.

1. Rhodes was not effective towards the end.
2. No
3. Yes
4. No, but he o ly had sufficient time to introduce himself to his new team mates.
5. No, his three best players were on the bench.
6. Rovers very much improved and a good team spirit in evidence so every chance against Hull. Mid field is the weak spot as Rovers are so bad at retaining possession they are afraid to even try.

This from Martin Keown on the post match analysis -

"Blackburn just kept believing they could get something out of this game. The amount of pressure Arsenal were putting on them at the end was relentless. Forwards Colin Kazim-Richards and Jordan Henderson at the top of the formation were willing runners and held onto the ball.

"Lee Williamson and Jason Lowe never stopped running in midfield, while central defenders Grant Hanley and Scott Dann will not have played a better game this season, or maybe in their entire careers. And the goalkeeper Jake Kean was on another planet. Every single one of them, the manager Michael Appleton included were outstanding. Williamson made his debut so it was quite a raw team with one or two individuals that have played in the Premier League.

"It was a scruffy finish by Kazim-Richards, but he kept himself solid and tucked it in. It was a stunning goal because Arsenal were dominating but Szczesny should have done better when he palmed the Martin Olsson shot straight to Kazim-Richards.

"All credit to Mike Appleton and his team, they've somehow managed to win here and go through into the next round. They're enjoying it now with their fans, and this will live long in the memory for both the Arsenal and Blackburn supporters for very different reasons."

Sweet, sweet, sweet.

About who owns the Rovers property. I was told over a year ago that Venkys bought the Company but that the properties of Ewood Park and Training Grounds were retained by the Trust. Jack Walker himself did this when he sold his steel business. He kept ownership of the property.
I can not guarantee how accurate my information is, but it seemed to make sense at the time. I will defer to someone who knows for sure about the ownership of Ewood Park, but not if it based on second hand information like mine.
Anyone know for dead sure ? It is very important, just in case we get in financial trouble later on.

Well done and maximum respect to all the fans that made the journey south today, you did us proud. I'm on a stag weekend so couldn't make it. With every passing game there looks to be less and less evidence to suggest that appy wasn't the right man for the job. I personally thought he was another inexperienced gamble, how wrong I was. Some are saying we rode our luck today but in my opinion you make your own luck. Teams that are flying high and playing with confidence do seem to get all the luck. We are most definitely a team on the up and we will only get better until the end of the season. Season salvageable.

Solid performances all over the pitch but Hanley and Kean were absolutely brilliant back there today. The best thing about Appy's ability to bring calm and stability is that it's finally going to allow our younger players to flourish, and boy have we got some potential coming through.

Last time we were in this division was when I went to most rovers games, all home and over half away, and the likes of Janny, Duffer and Dunny were lighting up Ewood. It can be like that again under Appy with our new generation.

Have a great week guys :)

I enjoy nothing more than seeing the Rovers get one-up on Arsene Whinger. Can't stand the guy. If he's not whinging about our style of play he's talking up how our players ought to be bought by 'bigger' clubs. Muppet.

India spends £70 Billion a year to lift millions out of poverty every year.India wants to erdicate poverty by 2020.
British government will no longer give India the economic aid by 2017.The government of USA,EU and Britain says India is a rich country and it should help it's poor 350 million people. The $4.5 Billion economic aid is paltry the Indian Government says it spends £70 Billion on welfare to eradicate povery in INdia.
India was developing economy now it's an emerging economy in 21st century.
India has 400 million middle class and more Billionaires than Europe.
Like you say Britain had an Empire with a industrial revoulution in UK with poor folks working for the mill owners ,children were used as labourers in mills and mines, slave trade in Africa to America this was in 18th and 19th century Britain built greatness back of it's empire looting ,slavery an mass exploitation.Things changed in 20th century with Trade Union movements ending child labour, better working condition and women's rights.THen the welfare state began and the nationalzation of heavy industries like coal mines, steel works, ship building and heavy engineering industries.Birth of NHS,Free school ,Universities and Welfare Benefits and minimum wages ,Unions brought in more stringent health and safety at work places which made Britain lead the world.
In INdia a emerging economy with 600 million labour force and 350 milion on poverty at this time India and China both nations are striving to end poverty and create jobs for the hungry and homeless.
India is spending $1 Trillion over the next five years building infrastructure developement in India.
India has 1.2 Billion people with 400 million middle class and 46 million super rich and 200 Billionaires.Over the last ten years some 200 million people were lifted out of poverty by way of employment, education and providing low cost homes.India spends billions on healthcare and education for the poor.
India wants to eradicate poverty by 2020 in the country as India is one the fastest growing economies in the world.Never before i have seen in India people have TV'S,MOTORBIKES,CARS

,ELECTRICITY,SCHOOLS

,MODERN HOSPITALS,INTERNET ,MOBILE PHONES AND TAP WATERS.
India is changing rapidly with better transport, motorways,

100 Airports,Shopping Malls,Fast Foods,Skyscrapers,me

I was under the impression that the land that Brockhall T/G is on was rented by the Walkers trust....so doesn't belong to WT,Venkeys or BRFC perhaps someone could put me straight if that is wrong;-)

Unreal. A win was always welcome but I didn't genuinely believe it could be pulled off! I know Arsenal had 30 attempts and dominated the proceedings but we deserved it.

Kean had an outstanding game and at 22, what a career he could have playing for us! The back four had a great game too, I thought Orr had it bad for the first 35 minutes, then settled in well. The Hanley-Dann partnership just gets better and better!

Williamson had a fantastic debut, very Jermaine Jones-esque. Should give us a bit more midfield dominance at Championship level, something we were never going to get at the Emirates.

CKR- thank you for not going back to Turkey! Finally got the goal his recent performances deserved.

MA is turning our situation around. Unbeaten in 6 games, conceded 2 goals.

Hull away is a massive game on tuesday. Completely different game to Arsenal, we'll have to bring the game to them. 100% believe we can take three points from there but it is not going to be easy at all.

Just a prediction, DJ Campbell to score on Tuesday.

1 loss this year, we're are definitely looking up.

Go and play on the motorway numb nuts. We came, we saw, we conquered. India is in an era of unprecedented growth on the back of the poor and helpless. The country is a slum, and the majority of its people on their arse. Much like the UK over a hundred and odd years ago. Difference is the world knew no better back then, but now your country kills its poor through poor health assistance and H&S is none existent, so while your country under cuts the majority of competitors on the back of ignoring its poorest think just how great are your wealthy 'Heroes'

100 Airports,Shopping Malls,Fast Foods,Skyscrapers,me

tros, India is a rising superpower.
India gives economic aid to the the world's poorest coutries ie
Africa starving millions $5 Billion
Bangladesh $1 Billion
Afganistan $2 Billion

Brockhall TG is built on the site of former Mental Hospital along with 400 homes etc...In 1982.Gerald Hitman a property developer bought a 999 year lease on the land allowing him to develop the site....the lease as now been passed on to his family after his death......like I said earlier WT /Venkeys/BRFC don't own the land...if someone can prove otherwise I'd be interested...

In 1893, Blackburn Rovers bought the freehold of Ewood Park for £2500
Jack Walker bought the club and redeveloped the ground. After his death the WT owned the ground....I assume when Venkeys bought the club the ground was included in the sale!

100 Airports,Shopping Malls,Fast Foods,Skyscrapers,me

tros, India is a rising superpower.
India gives economic aid to the the world's poorest coutries ie
Africa starving millions $5 Billion
Bangladesh $1 Billion
Afganistan $2 Billion
India has emerged Obama President of USA

MODAN. I would guess that the vast majority of people who come on this forum have little or no interest in India. This is a Rovers football site, do you not understand that ?
Your constant babblings about India are possibly having the opposite effect of what you hope for. Rather than make us respect or admire India, your performance makes us think that Indians are boastful braggarts.
Yes, India has come a long way, based on the political, legal, business, rail systems, etc that the British built and left for them, but we are not interested in talking about it on this site, so please stop.
If we had a Chinese supporter on here he could start to give us statistics that would make India's look sick.

MODAN. Also, if you keep filling up the site with contraversional, rambling, non pertinent comments you may get banned. I'm sure that a lot of us would welcome this. I don't come on this forum to see how many cars were built in India last year.

BRFC is owned by Venkys of India you forget.
British left India in a very poor state with 90% poverty with railways, ports for East India Company for th benefits of Britain's greatness, power and wealth.
India has built up mass industrialization in India and eradicated 60 % of poverty in India.Yes there are 350 millions Indians on poverty today But India is spending £70 Billion on welfare to help lift millions out of poverty and India hope to eradicate poverty by 2025.
India is the second largest investors in UK created thousands of jobs in UK.
China is an evil communist country do not even speak English language ,China has been exporting cheap goods to Britain and Europe and millions of British and European loss their jobs .
While India has helped UK economy by investing £24 Billion in UK created thousands of jobs in UK.India is the second largest investors in UK after USA.
China wants to rule the world they want to be superpower and dominate the world and they don't play cricket or football they only understand Martial Arts.
India is friend of WEST ie USA,UK,EU,RUSSIA,ISR
AEL.
India is the world's largest democracy free votes, free press, free courts and about 500,000 British,Americans and Europeans live and work in India.
1.2 million Indians live in UK and 30,000 Indians live in UK.
Football is the fastest growing sport in India and English clubs can go play with Indian clubs like cricket.
So Venkys bought BRFC to help promote football into India.
