DARWEN continued their winning ways with a hard-fought victory at the League’s newcomers.
West Didsbury, managed by former Darwen player Andy Nelson, raced to a 2-0 half time lead after Martin Parker sliced the ball in to his own net on 18 minutes before Mike Aston converted a 30th minute penalty.
Darwen pulled one back within a minute of the restart when Steve Lee hit a glorious dipping shot from the left edge of the box over keeper Ben Simpson.
Ryan Steele levelled on the hour after racing on to a Bobby Langford pass and five minutes later, Steve Lee outpaced a defender down the touchline to beat the West Didsbury keeper from the tightest of angles.
