Accrington Stanley defender Hunt to stay in hospital

ACCRINGTON Stanley defender Nicky Hunt will stay in hospital overnight as he recovers from the head injury sustained in today's 0-0 draw at Plymouth.

The former Bolton right back was knocked unconscious after a clash of heads, causing a 10-minute delay to the match at Home Park before he was taken to hospital.

Hunt is recovering well but is thought to have suffered severe concussion and will remain in hospital overnight for observation.

Get well & back up home asap Nicky, went sick listening to this unfold on the radio yesterday - even more so when it was reported that the Argyle fans were heard to be booing another of our lads who was injured & chanting cheat at him - if any of those animals are interested that player left Plymouth on crutches. Our two games against Argyle this season have provided controversy for different reasons - banter is one thing but the behaviour of those so-called football fans is unbelievable

Just to clarify - he was being called a cheat as he was injured OFF the pitch and came back onto the pitch to lay down and waste time - something Accrington were brilliant at from the first minute.

Sorry, I forgot to add - I hope Nicky Hunt makes a quick recovery. I feared the worst when I saw him go down.

Thank you for the concern about Nicky Hunt but I think maybe some Argyle fans have short memories & can't remember the disgraceful, deliberate actions of Chadwick in the reverse fixture which resulted in our keeper being sent off - I'm not condoning our lads IF they did a bit of time wasting but methinks it's maybe a case of the pot calling the kettle.
I think our lads did well to carry on with this game not knowing how Nicky was & what was happening so maybe
they may have slowed the game down a little so as not to make mistakes when their heads were all over the place, it's not something our players usually do although quite a few teams have done it to us
