Blackburn Rovers hoping for swift appointment
7:52pm Friday 28th December 2012 in Sport
BLACKBURN Rovers have tonight issued a statement confirming they are aiming to appoint a new manager as soon as possible.
Rovers sacked boss Henning Berg on Thursday after only 57 days in charge and have put reserve team manager Gary Bowyer in temporary charge for tomorrow's Championship fixture at Barnsley.
The club have now released a statement saying they are hoping to put a new manager in place swiftly, although they stressed an appointment is not imminent.
The statement read: "In light of current rumour and speculation, Blackburn Rovers would like to reassure supporters that the club are seeking to appoint a new manager in the shortest possible time."
Global advisor Shebby Singh added: “We are undertaking a proper process and though no announcement is imminent, we are working hard to make the right appointment as quickly as possible.”
