Bowyer to lead Blackburn Rovers at Barnsley
7:47pm Friday 28th December 2012 in Sport
GARY Bowyer will take temporary charge of Blackburn Rovers for tomorrow's Championship fixture at Barnsley.
The Rovers reserve team coach took first team training today following the sacking of manager Henning Berg yesterday.
Backroom staff Eric Black, Iain Brunskill and Bobby Mimms also departed along with Berg.
Global advisor Shebby Singh was at Brockhall together with Judan Ali, who has been shadowing the Rovers' coaching staff in recent weeks and is under consideration for a permanent role at the club.
But, contrary to some reports, neither Singh nor Ali took training today.

Don't forget Kean stabbed SA in the back, accused us Rovers fans of spiking his drink, wasted millions on players (Goodwillie, Petrovic, Dann, etc etc) forced out long-term senior players who had served the club well (Emerton, Nelson, Samba, Salgado etc) and ultimately he was manager when we were relegated - the buck stops with him.
Also, if SK is "sooooo great" how come he has never, not once been even a 100-1 outsider for any other managers job since he left Ewood - because he was (and still is) AN UTTER MORON (and the entire football world, except you, knows it!).
Now jog on and get another line - you're just BORING everyone with your "KEAN IN" rubbish.

What about his treatment of Kalanic who although he would never play still finished the season as top scorer? Or his treatment of diouf after the warnock affair, who is that much of a sewer rat he now plays for warnock week in week out. Signs petrovic, then sells him, waits until Nzonzi moves as he stated he would never play for the bald tosser ever again and then goes and resigns. Steve Kean destroyed this club. And who can ever forget his, Ryan Nelsen, has the strangest injury ever seen and is more akin to a rugby injury, we have sent him to new zealand to seek national medical attention as he is lucky he may never walk again. He then signed for tottenham and went staraight in the first team, and then on to QPR whwere he is ther best defender.
The whole thing was a wage reducing plan. All the big earners were sold or frozen out until they left as in Emerton and Salgados case, not forgrtting Roberts, while we were in the premier league to reduce costs. Hence Venkys posting a profit and refusing to sack kean as he had done as he was told.
Venkys are to blame and need to leave once they have finished raping the club like they seem to consider normal activity back home in pune.
Take this season as a yardstick. Robinson Givet are next to leave, more wages saved.

Been watching Homeland recently, excellent programme. If I knock up one of those exploding suicide vests, are there any terminally ill Blackburn fans who would want to go out with a bang in a Venkys outlet in Pune.

Keeping the management structure of the club in place was just one of the commitments they made when buying the club which they have not honoured. It took them a matter of days to bin that one.
They oversaw a massive increase in the losses and panicked. They went on a cost cutting exercise in the vain hope they could somehow cling onto the back of the money train which is the EPL.
Everyone could see this was madness; retaining the services of the proven failure which was Kean only compounded the cost cutting exercise. Relegation and the consequent loss of over £25m, soon to be over £55m a year when the new EPL TV deal kicks in (there is not a hope in hell of us being promoted this year, or any in the near future for that matter) is the inevitable result. This is the level of failure in pounds and pence; even Venkys will understand that.
So, what do they do? make money available to try and lure alleged top players to get us out of trouble. Problem is they left it in the hands of Kean and Singh; one we had all seen as being unable to do that particular job whilst the other....well you decide.
We were left with a slow, unfit, unbalanced squad of has beens, maybes and never willbes. When even David Dunn suggests pre-season training may have been a touch "leisurely" then you know it was leisurely. That is when the basis of the fitness of the players is established; there is no time to "catch up" fully during the season - especially if they were only training for about 90 minutes a day, as was alleged. Conceding late goals regularly and falling away at the end of the season; definite signs they were simply not fit enough.
Henning Berg may have been a panic and incorrect appointment but he was on a loser from day one. Even the lord god almighty would have needed to be given time to rid the club of the Kean legacy. It is ironic they sacked the manager before the January transfer window, something they should have done, at the latest, last December. Not that that will mean anything; who will they appoint this time and how long will it take? They have no contacts outside of Singh’s ex-TV buddies from Malaysia and he couldn't even persuade them to take the job. And don't think they couldn't have left their current jobs had they wanted.
It will almost certainly be another coach as no manager would want to work under these circumstances. No manager we would want anyway.
Nicholas and the other Anderson lackies on Sky are warming up for their "careful what you wish for..." and " I told you so" rubbish as I speak but we all know this was coming with Kean. They will doubtless blame it all on Venkys and they will be absolutely correct; problem is their love child Kean was a fundamental and willing partner in what they have done and continue to do; f@ck over Blackburn Rovers FC.
Do not kid yourself, Venkys have acted with levels of naivety and incompetence bordering on negligence from day one. They are the sole reason the club is now in disarray, aided and abetted by people who should never have been within a million miles of this club. Whilst they are here, there is nothing to look forward to except probable administration.
Happy New Year my ar$e.
