PUPILS from across Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley ran, jumped and threw their way through the annual sports hall athletics competition.

The year seven event was organised by the Hyndburn and Ribble Valley School Sports Partnership as part of the school games project.

The competition was held at Oakhill Academywhere a place at the county finals were at stake.

For the highest placed Ribble Valley school and highest placed Hyndburn School booked their place in the Lancashire final to be held at Blackpool Sports Centre in the new year.

St Augustine’s were the top Ribble Valley school, winning both boys and girls events as with St Christopher’s second in each category and top Hyndburn school.

Organisers thanked young leaders from St Augustine’s who helped organise everything on the day of the event.

Results - Boys: 1 St Augustine’s, 2 St Christophers, 3 Clitheroe Royal Grammar School Girls: 1 St Augustines, 2 St Christophers, 3 Ribblesdale.
