KEVIN Davies' early strike gave Bolton a 1-0 half-time lead against Rovers at Ewood Park.
The hosts were outplayed by the visitors for much of the half and fell behind after just 100 seconds when Davies found space to fire a Chris Eagles pass into the roof of the net.
Eagles was a constant thorn in the side of Henning Berg's men and could have had a hat-trick but on each occasion was denied by Paul Robinson in the home goal.
At the other end, Mauro Formica saw an early effort saved by Adam Bogdan while the forward couldn't get enough power on a Martin Olsson cross 10 minutes before the break.
