FULL-TIME: Hull City 0, Burnley 1

DEAN Marney's first half goal against his old club was enough to secure a first away win for Sean Dyche as Burnley boss.

The Clarets came out on top for the fourth time in a row at the KC Stadium, as they recorded their third away win of the season and seventh straight win over the Tigers in total.

Burnley faced spells of pressure in the second half as in-form Hull pushed for an equaliser.

But they withheld it to secure a third clean sheet in five games under Dyche.

Marney got the breakthrough in the 40th minute after letting Ross Wallace's pass roll across him, then turning and burying his shot in the bottom left corner.

Burnley might have had more to show for their first-half efforts with David Stockdale having a nervy debut after signing on a short-term loan from Fulham, although he managed to push a long-range Ross Wallace effort onto the woodwork.

Hull switched from 3-5-2 to a more orthodox 4-4-2 at the break and enjoyed longer spells of pressure, but there were still openings for the Clarets.

They had to survive a late scare however to secure the win, with Nick Proschwitz prodding wide in stoppage time.

How amusing!

The No-dads got a result at the mighty Posh, last week, who'd sacked their best 4 players days before, and the whole town got a communal semi-on.

7 days later and the Championship comes back and bites them and their blue and white *****

For all their swaggering and huffing and puffing the super massive ( if you listen to them!) B******ds are 2, yes that's 2 super massive points ahead of the Clarets!

Being realisitic folks and banter aside, if Burnley can't beat Rovers next week after the circus we've had under Kean and the disarray Berg is now left with, they never will. It's being handed on a plate. Our back 4 are as flaky as pastry. Lots of nice passing but no end product unless against non existent opposition like Posh. The squad is there to do well but they need re-coaching after being under the tutliage of useless cretin Kean so its going to take some time. Course I don't want to lose pts to Burnley but I have my eye further ahead to May and its that result that's most important. My lads are going on Sunday and though they desperately want to win or at least draw they'll enjoy it whatever the result just for the occasion, singing etc.

agree its a funny old league, chaos at rovers for some time, poor morale,, all the issues with club and Steve kean, now a new manager etc. and yet Burnley have less points than rovers.
