EWOOD Park was opened up during the summer break as Blackburn Rovers new star Roque Santa Cruz was presented to the fans The 25-year-old striker, who made his £3.3million move from Bayern Munich over the weekend, demonstrated his swarthy good looks and ball control as he played a couple of one-twos with manager Mark Hughes to rapturous applause and chants of 'Hughesy' from the crowd.

Rovers bosses opened the Jack Walker Stand to allow Santa Cruz to be presented to fans yesterday.

It was the first time the club had ever opened up the ground for such a presentation.

Around 150 supporters turned up.

Fully kitted-out in the latest home strip and light grey boots, Santa Cruz spent a lot of time signing autographs and chatting to fans.

Speaking to fans, Santa Cruz revealed that he learnt English from Owen Hargreaves, his former England international team mate from Bayern Munich, now at Manchester United, and it did not fail him as he articulately but softly answered questions put to him.
