Re: New blow for bus station (LT, September 9).

THE recent comments in the LT by Mr Riley display a complete lack of planning capability. To issue such an excuse this late in the day clearly demonstrates that insufficient research and planning went into the project before it commenced.

It is a disgrace that taxpayers’ money is being wasted by the council, and this applies to almost every project they handle. Similar problems are obvious with the highways councils, with councillors and managers incapable of planning projects, while throwing more and more money at them, then finally, as in Mr Riley’s case, making ridiculous excuses and trying to blame others.

I have personally managed many major projects, both nationally and internationally, but I have never encountered such inefficiencies.

I was raised in Blackburn, and subsequent councils have destroyed one of the best Victorian towns in the country. They should hang their heads in shame.
