SEEING hundreds of women gather at Race For Life in Witton Park was amazing.
With a sea of pink and a fun-filled atmosphere (that only women could create) was overwhelming to say the least.
And having never been amongst such inspirational ladies, all at the same time - for the same reason - in a bid to beat cancer, certainly opened my eyes to how many people have been affected by one disease.
Women in the crowds who had battled or were fighting cancer brought their children and husbands along to cheer them on.
Next year Shirley Hodkinson (see the video), who was 'walking for life' in a bright pink wig, is battling breast cancer wants to return next year, only to run.
Good luck to you Shirley - I hope to see you amongst the crowd next year, because I will be running to raise money for such a worthy charity - that will help find a cure for cancer.
