I SUPPORT all comments made by Sajjad Karim MEP (LT, Sept 5) regarding animal experiments.
The general public's knowledge and understanding of these issues is sadly lacking and I firmly believe the majority of experiments are simply to provide "jobs for the boys", as pointless, repetitive experiments are continued, regardless of results already obtained.
I am an ardent animal lover and have received a considerable amount of literature on the subject, some of which verifies all the points made by Sajjad Karim.
One should basically remember the three Us, ie: Animal experiments are unethical, unneccesary and unreliable.
If man were truly superior to animals, the world would be a better place.
