IF there was one group that needed to be banned this was it.

The Muslims Against Crusades group had become more of an embarrassment to the rest of the Muslim community than anything else.

Ask any Muslim person and they find their actions disgraceful.

They burned poppies last year and were now looking to demonstrate on Remembrance Day.

Of course we can all blame the media for lapping it up but, at the end of the day, what kind of reaction did they expect?

Let us be totally blunt about this. If you come out with utter nonsense, then this is what you get.

No excuses. No moaning about human rights. No saying that they are in some way being persecuted because of their religion.

While this group is made up of a handful of people, they did get more publicity than they deserved.

They became like a bunch of jesters pulled before the cameras to entertain the masses every so often.

I find it a little strange that when you actually speak to people like this they have no real sense of reality.

I very much doubt they would actually stage such a protest in Pakistan, or any other Middle Eastern country.

The simple reason is – they would not live to tell the tale.

And you can’t even use this argument against them because then they pull the ‘freedom of expression’ one on you.

So, you end up using a rule to defend your argument, but then saying that rule is rubbish in the first place?

I am not going to sit here and condemn this group because I shouldn’t really have to.

It is like asking every other person in the UK to condemn the nutters who wrap themselves in the Union Jack and do a Nazi salute.

The reason for this kind of anger is that some of us do know people who lived through the great wars of the past.

Maybe a little respect every so often is not so much to ask.
