Society is unrecognisable now, but if It has been a strange couple of days but things have been put into perspective.

Watching the news this week I, like most people, was saddened to see thousands of people suffering due to the earthquake in Haiti.

And immediately after a 10-minute report about how hopeless the situation was in Haiti we had another 10-minute report about how Britain was ‘still in the grip of an Arctic freeze’ and how ‘the ice was a major issue for everyone.’ Now, I am not going to sit here and say that things have been easy for everyone but I kind of think we should all thank whatever is up there for what we have.

It is a bit of ice – by the time you read this it will probably have gone.

Come the summer months when the temperature rises above the 30 degrees mark we will have a few more weather warnings and hose bans.

In the current climate anyone making comments such as ‘Our bin bags didn’t get picked up on time’ and ‘I couldn’t get to the town centre to window shop’ should take a look at the pictures on their TV from Haiti over the next few days.

You may realise that life is not so bad after all.

Also this week the Government has come to its senses and banned the Islam4UK group.

The problem is these fellows will now launch another group and then another one.

And when we have got sick and tired of listening to Anjem Choudhry we will hear about some other bloke who wants to tell us how it is and how it should be.

The point is if these guys are no different from those at the English Defence League (EDL).

Each simply wants to cause some argument where there isn’t any and each is an annoyance if nothing else.

There is an argument to suggest we need people like Anjem Choudhry as he makes for good headlines.

So I think the banning of Islam4Uk is going to be more of an issue for all those newspapers who like to stick his picture on their front page as soon he utters the word ‘Islam’ and ‘Britain’ in the same sentence.

I’m pretty sure they are going to need a replacement soon. I nominate Basil Brush.

He talks a lot... is full of himself and has that ‘smirk’ on his face all the time.

My only concern is that he doesn’t pass the ultimate test...he’s not a Muslim.
