BRITAIN has been conned and misled by the EU and our own leaders.

This is the only conclusion I can come to having re-read the pamphlet sent out to everybody by Harold Wilson prior to the 1975 referendum on the Common Market (EEC).

Now called the European Union, its whole emphasis has changed from the ‘economy’ and ‘trade’ (as outlined in the pamphlet) to the ‘political union’ it has become.

This was not what we voted for.

Many of our own politicians, and those in Brussels, were well aware of the political implications, prior to 1975.

These included free movement of people, loss of sovereignty and independence, EU law overriding British law and so on.

None of this was made clear to the British public before the 1975 referendum.

The spiralling annual cost to the UK is obscene and would be better spent at home.

Beware, history is about to repeat itself – but this time we must say no.

As far as ‘governing Great Britain is concerned’ it strikes me that our politicians would be very happy for the EU to run our country while our MPs could relax and enjoy their 10 per cent increase in salary.
