COURAGEOUS, brave, inspirational.

So many superlatives spring to mind in relation to war hero Rick Clement.

The way he has dealt with the life-changing injuries suffered in May 2010 has been nothing short of astonishing.

Not only has he coped admirably, he has been on his own personal crusade to ‘give something back’ after the wonderful support received during his treatment and rehabilitation.

He set up a charity to support serving or ex-armed forces members and their relatives. A Soldier’s Journey helps sufferers of post traumatic stress disorder, people who have lost loved ones and those struggling to adapt to civilian life, plus many, many more.

All the time though, Mr Clement has continued his own battles including learning to walk again with artificial legs.

Once again, selfless and inspirational Mr Clement has set himself a goal and wants to be able to pay his own special tribute on Remembrance Sunday. His aim is to walk unaided to lay a wreath.

There really is no such word as ‘can’t’ in Rick Clement’s vocabulary.

He motivates others every day and we’re backing him all the way to conquer his goal and carry on surprising and achieving.
