WITH all the bad press that our local hospitals have received in recent times, I would like to put on record the superb out-patient care that I have recently experienced Having broken my arm I was examined by an upper limb surgeon at a fracture clinic at the Royal Blackburn Hospital, where I was seen promptly and efficiently.

I subsequently had two follow-up visits, where again I received excellent personalised care and do not believe that I could have received better anywhere in the UK.

There are always going to be ‘challenges’ in a large complex organisation such as the NHS but I think that we should remember that despite working in very stressful circumstances local health care workers at all levels are providing a good local service and I for one am very grateful for their hard work
